Bit confused with all the Defender types – 90, 110, 130, Puma, Td5, etc. Can someone explain how many Defender models actually exist?
Bro Hasibu Rahaman here's a quick breakdown of the main Defender models over the years:
📌 Body Sizes:
- Defender 90 – Short wheelbase (2-door)
- Defender 110 – Long wheelbase (most common in SL)
- Defender 130 – Extended wheelbase, mostly for utility or safari builds
📌 Engine Generations:
- 2.5 NA / Turbo (19J) – early ones
- 200Tdi / 300Tdi – Most reliable, mechanical
- Td5 (1998–2007) – more power, semi-electronic
- Puma (2.4 / 2.2 TDCi) – newer engines, more comfort
- New Defender (L663) – post 2020, totally new platform
So overall – many combinations, but they all carry the Defender DNA 💪
In Sri Lanka, you'll mostly see 90s/110s with 300Tdi or Td5 builds. Some Puma ones now popping up too.
