Title: DIY – How to Stop Water Leaks in Old Defender Doors?
Post by: James_Stephen on Jun 23, 2025, 12:09 PM
Machanla,
Rainy season's here and now my old Defender's doors leaking like a colander 😩 Every time it pours, the carpets get wet and the footwell smells like a pond. Anyone here done a DIY fix for door seal leaks? I'd rather patch it up myself than go to a garage unless I have to. Any recommended sealant or rubber kits locally?

Adoo bro,
Classic Defender problem, ne 😅 I had the same issue with my 110. I went to DSI AutoMart and got some universal rubber door seals – worked like a charm. Also used 3M black weatherstrip adhesive (you can find it at Autodrome). Just clean the edge well, stick the new rubber, and let it cure.
Pro tip: If water's still coming in, check the top of the windscreen too. Sometimes it leaks from there and runs inside like a sneaky river! 😂
