Mine is simple: If I hear a new sound, I open the bonnet. If I smell something funny, I pray.

But seriously – I now use a Google sheet and mark service dates. Helps me avoid surprise repairs and saves money long-term.

Mcn, if it's a small leak, you can try Sika 221 or 227 from the outside as a temporary fix just clean the area well and apply it along the top edge. But if the rubber is too old or hardened, best to remove the windscreen and refit with new seal proper sealant. Patch works short-term, but long-term solution is a reseal.
