I'm planning to drop a 300Tdi into my Santana Defender. Can anyone recommend a solid mechanic near Colombo who's done this kind of job?

Try Mady's Garage, Gampaha. He swapped a 300Tdi into my TD5 last year. Had to tweak the mounts and wiring but he sorted it nice. Full job took 2 weeks. Highly recommend him if you want a clean install.

I went to Upul in Kelaniya. Bit pricey, but top-notch work. He even did a dry compression test before fitting the engine. Avoid weekend jobs those are rushes.
