Yo everyone,
I'm thinking about adding a roof rack to my Defender. I've seen some people have them for carrying extra fuel, camping gear, and whatnot. But is it really worth it, or will it just be overkill for daily driving in Colombo? Will it mess with the handling or fuel efficiency? Let me know what you think!

Honestly, a roof rack can be super useful if you're doing long trips or off-roading, but if you're just driving around Colombo, it might be overkill. You'll definitely feel the difference in fuel economy, especially with extra weight on top.

But if you're planning on going for long island-wide trips or want to carry extra gear like tents, spare tires, or even a canoe for some beach trips, a roof rack is a game-changer. I recommend getting a lightweight Aluminium Roof Rack if you're going for it. Don't go too heavy; the Defender already has enough weight to manage.
