Machanla, I found a seriously weathered Series II 88" parked behind an old CTB workshop in Polgahawela. Bonnet gone, doors half rusted, but the chassis looks restorable. The uncle there said he'd let it go for Rs. 280,000.

I'm tempted to take on the restoration and slowly build her back to life. Anyone here brought back something this far gone? Is it worth it — or am I biting off more than I can chew?

Bro, bring her back to life! These old girls deserve another chance. My Series III was in worse shape when I found her in Batticaloa. Took me a year, but worth every rupee. Start with the chassis and bulkhead. The rest will follow.
