Hey folks,Just wanted to drop a post on one of my all-time favourites – the Land Rover Series III. Produced from 1971 to 1985, this was the Defender before the Defender. In Sri Lanka, it earned its place from tea estates to jungle tracks, known for its raw simplicity and unbeatable character.

What made the Series III special:
🔧 Simple mechanics – no sensors, just spanners
🛞 Tough leaf-spring suspension built for rough terrain
⚙️ 2.25L petrol or diesel – basic but reliable
🪟 Classic sliding windows and metal dash = pure vintage charm
Even today, you'll spot a few Series III's in places like Badulla, Matale, or Monaragala – covered in dust but still standing strong.
To me, the Series III isn't just a vehicle. It's a part of Sri Lankan 4x4 history. Anyone here own or restore one? Let's share stories, pics, and tips to keep these legends alive.
100% agree machan!
