Title: 300 Tdi Defender vs Discovery expansion tank height
Post by: Offroad_Odyssey on Jun 26, 2025, 09:27 AM
Machan, you know in the 300 Tdi Disco, the coolant bottle sits kinda low ne like below the thermostat housing level. So if you fill up the thermo housing fully, the expansion tank just overflows, gravity doing its thing, ne.

But what about the Defender 300 Tdi, da? Is it the same story? Or does the bottle sit a bit higher than the thermostat housing on that one?

Ane machan, yeah, the expansion tank in the Defender 300 Tdi is actually higher than the thermostat housing not like in the Disco, where the tank is sitting low-down

both fill and check coolant the same way.

Only thing is, on the Disco, the seam is lower so "low coolant" means it's already well below the thermostat housing.
