Title: 2.5 NA Diesel – Is It Worth Keeping or Swap to TDI?
Post by: Gamechanger on Jun 30, 2025, 05:01 PM
Machan I'm running a 2.5 NA diesel, good torque but top end is slow. Should I stick to it or go for a 200TDI? Will it fit directly or need modding?

2.5 NA is reliable but yeah, top end is sluggish. If you want better highway drive and  pulling power, 200TDI is a solid upgrade. It doesn't drop in perfectly though you'll need to modify engine mounts, adjust radiator/intercooler setup, and possibly change the gearbox crossmember. But it's been done plenty in SL. If your NA is healthy, keep it but if you're planning long trips or towing, 200TDI is worth it.
