Before I drive out, I always pat the dashboard, whisper "let's do this," and turn the key slowly like I'm waking a giant.

What's your Landy ritual? Superstition? Lucky moves?

Buy? I'd get two! One for Matale market runs and one just to flex at Galle Face 😆 "Land Rover tuk" would still need its own toolbox though!

Machanla, just imagine this for a second — a 3-wheel tuk with a 300TDi engine, leaf springs, and off-road tyres. Called it the Land Rover T90. Built tough, rattles like hell, and still climbs Haputale like a mountain goat.

Would you buy one? Or are we dreaming mad things after too much kottu?

Mcn, if it's a small leak, you can try Sika 221 or 227 from the outside as a temporary fix just clean the area well and apply it along the top edge. But if the rubber is too old or hardened, best to remove the windscreen and refit with new seal proper sealant. Patch works short-term, but long-term solution is a reseal.

Totally agree mcn stock lights are hopeless on dark roads. LED is the better option now less heat, faster response, and easier install than HID. Just make sure to get a projector style LED kit or proper beam pattern so you don't blind oncoming traffic.

Good idea mcn manual isolators are great for safety and theft. Most people mount it under the bonnet near the battery for easy access, but if you want more theft protection, hide it inside the cabin near driver footwell or under seat. Just make sure cables are solid and well insulated. Can DIY if you're comfortable with wiring.

Machang, Sri Lankan mechanics are like street magicians. I once saw a guy use a slipper strap to hold a radiator hose in place — it worked!

What's the weirdest hack you've seen done to a Defender in this country?

Once went to Diyatha Uyana on a poya day — one auntie said my Defender looked like an armored truck from a heist 😂 Never again.

Okay folks, we love our Landys — but some places are just not worth it.

For me, it was trying to squeeze through Pettah on a Monday at 8am. Scratched a mirror, got cursed at by three tuk drivers, and broke my horn.

What's your "never again" destination?

I tried YouTube once. Ended up with extra bolts. Now I call "Banda mama" from Madampe. No filter, just experience 😂
